3D Jungle: Project 3 WIP
For my final project, I sought to explore a technique in Photoshop I hadn’t yet dappled in, 3D images. After watching several tutorials and getting the gist of the idea, I looked for images that would stand out to the viewer and reiterate the 3D effect. For this, I decided to go with rainforest creatures, a fun and vibrant topic to play with 3 dimensions. To create these images, I made several different renderings. For each image, I made 3 layers with the same image in each, then isolated different RGB colors to create both blue and red versions of the base image. I then either moved the base image in front or behind my original image, then played with the shift. I shifted each color either up or down, or left or right. Then, I took these images and printed them out small scale with my printer. I purchased a 12 pack of 3D glasses from Amazon, so it was time to see how well my creations worked. I brought both the image samples, each shifted in a different way, and my glasses, to Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery on Pearl, to ask some of my old coworkers which they thought gave the best 3D effect. After getting lots of input and tallying which images were reported as the most 3 dimensional, I went with the rendering that got the most votes. The best rendering was the one that had the original image behind the red and blue layers, and had left and right-shifted color layers.
